Scientific Illustration in Geoscience has a long tradition. Since Alexander von Humboldt who did extraordinary illustrations on his research journeys, visualisations have been used to explain geographic content. In this Illustration project, I explored different styles for the same topic to see which one is suited best for the communication of scientific projects.
There are several research projects from different universities in the Kaunertal valley in Tirol, Austria. One of them – Phusicos – assesses the relationship between geomorphological processes and vegetation. For this purpose I had the pleasure to create an illustration of the Kaunertal valley and the processes that shape it.
